About Sound Well

Sound Well is an evidence-based resource on how sound affects sleep, focus, learning, babies, older adults and pets. Most content about white noise, "focus music" and "healing frequencies" is either generic SEO filler or product marketing. We do it differently: every claim carries an evidence grade and a citation to the original research, and we say so plainly when a popular sound has no good evidence behind it.

The ecosystem

Each topic on this site is paired with a YouTube channel โ€” one for knowledge videos that explain the science, and long-form audio you can actually play:

Our team & expert review

Sound Well is produced by a small editorial team that reads the primary literature and writes for a general audience. Because several topics are health-adjacent (infant sleep safety, dementia, anxiety), we are building a panel of professional reviewers โ€” a pediatrician, a sleep specialist and a veterinarian. Articles they review will carry a "Reviewed by" byline.

TODO (owner): add founder/editor name and credentials, and list named expert reviewers as they join โ€” a key E-E-A-T signal for these YMYL topics.

Read our Editorial Policy to see exactly how we grade evidence and which words we never use.
